Since being established in 2021 the U15 Clare Post-Primary Schools Hurling competitions, in association with Club Clare has become one of the most important and best supported underage hurling competitions. This year the competition has grown further with the inclusion of 2 new schools, Ennis Community College/Gaelcolaiste an Chláir and St. Josephs Spanish Point. The competitions which caters for all Post Primary Schools in the County, as well as Gort Community College, Ardscoil Rís and St Munchin’s College, is generating huge excitement among players, teachers and coaches in 14 different schools.

Tuesday/Thursday night lights will see our top schools in the county playing against each other over a six week period, starting in early November. St Flannan’s College will aim to defend their A title from last year while St Caimin’s Shannon will be looking to hold onto the B title.
“We are delighted to announce the launch of the Clare Post Primary Schools U15 Hurling Championship in association with Club Clare. Post Primary Schools hurling has a long and distinguished history in this county and in recent years many of our schools have experienced success at Munster level,2 said a spokesperson.

“This initiative aims to encourage and champion Post Primary Schools Hurling within the County and many schools have aspirations of playing at the highest level and this competition can aid them on their journey.
“We are delighted to have the support of Teachers, Principals and outside volunteer school Coaches. This competition will cater not alone for Clare-based players but also from Galway, Limerick and Tipperary. We are hoping that these competitions will attract the interest of Clare supporters, parents, teachers and club personnel.

“All fixtures will be displayed on the Clare GAA website. We are very grateful to both Clare GAA and the GAA clubs in the county who have made their floodlit pitches available to us. The Clare Post Primary Hurling Development Committee is in its fourth year to help promote hurling in Secondary Schools across the county.

“The members of this group consist of members of the Clare County Board, Games Development Full-time staff, Post Primary School Teachers and members of the Hurling Development Steering Group within the County”

Very best of luck to the Bridge boys who will be representing St. Caimins Shannon, St Patricks Comprehensive Shannon, St Flannans College Ennis, St Josephs Tulla and Ard Scoil Rís.
