Junior B Championship, Quarter Final
Sixmilebridge 1-18
Clarecastle 1-19
Venue - Sixmilebridge
Referee - Paul Howard
Our Junior Bs concluded their championship campaign recently when they lost out to Clarecastle in the Quarter Final. Played in the Bridge under lights, the Bridge were down to 14 men after 10 minutes when full back Mark O'Donnovan was red carded for stopping a Clarecastle attack. The Bridge despite being doen a man were only 3 points down at half time.
The second half saw a spirited comeback despite being a man down and some excellent shooting from David O' Connor kept the Bridge in the game up to the dying moments and just for a missed free would have taken the game to extra time, but Clarecastle were the victors unfortunately by a single point.
Best for the Bridge on the day were David O' Connor who kept the score board ticking over, Jack Lee when introduced at corner back, Dara Twomey and Robbie Corry.
Well done to the Junior Bs who had a great year, reaching the League final and who were unbeaten in the championship group stages up until the Quarter Final. Clarecastle have now gone on to reach the Junior B County Final.
Well done to Mikey Corbett and his management team this year and a word of thanks to some sponsors who supported this team also:
