St. Caimins 2-16 Scariff Community College 1-13

A youthful St. Caimins U15 hurling team travelled to Clareabbey this morning for the final of the Clare schools U15B final against Scariff. The game was due to take place pre Christmas but was postponed due to adverse weather but this morning saw perfect conditions for hurling and despite it being the month of January the sun was shining and the underfoot condition were excellent.

It was Scariff who lead at the short whistle on a score of 0-09 to 1-09 but Caimins came out in flying form in the second half and with our own Liam Flannery putting in a man of the match performance with 3 points from play to compliment his tireless workrate. Harry Loughnane chipped in with a fine individual score before a second goal from Jack Flynn had the Shannon side in control to run out winners by 6 points.

Well done to teachers Aaron Cunningham (Wolfe Tones) and Michael Corry (Clooney/Quin) on guiding the team to a first Clare title at U15. It is indeed an exciting period for the school considering over half the team are underage next year so we look forward to more big performances.

For the Bridge we had 8 starters in Larry Howard (Corner Back) Sean Conlon (Corner Back), Jack Monaghan (Wing Back), Cian Mullins (Centre Back), Liam Mulready (Midfield), Harry Loughnane (Wing Forward), Liam Flannery (Wing Forward) and Caelan Hayes (Corner Forward) while Noah Seago O'Sullivan and Oisin Rafferty were introduced in the backs during the game.
Well done also to other members of the squad from the Bridge were Tadgh Reddin, Derek McCauley, Cormac O'Halloran, Alex Hayes and Zac Sheedy to bring our count to 15 medal winners.
