In recent weeks, the players on each of our hurling panels were asked to nominate their candidates for the 2024 Player of the year award which is the Cup kindly donated by the O'Halloran and Loughnanne families in memory of Seamus O'Halloran from Cappa, who passed away in 2018 and who was a great clubman fulfilling many roles in the club down through the years and his daughter Brigid 'Bee' Loughnanne (O'Halloran) who sadly passed away after a long illness in 2022. Brigid was a full of life character who left a lasting impression on many in the Bridge and Shannon and woder afield.

The nominees from each team were as follows: Senior: Brian Corry & Derek Fahy. Intermediate: Luke O Halloran & Dylan Downes. Junior A: Cian Hogan & Jack O Halloran.  Junior B: Daragh Toomey & Alex Frost. Junior C: Brian Glynn & Will Gilligan.

Well done to all the nominees who performed excellently for their team throughouit the year and there certainlyu were notable performances from each of them.

Ultimately only one can be chosen and in this instance it was Derek Fahy of the senior team who tunrned in some great displays on the teams path to the County final against Feakle. Derek will be the first to admit that it is a team performace that is required every day but nonetheless it is great to recognise the indivuidual displays which contribute to those team performances.

Well done to Derek and all the nominees for 2024.
