As we say goodbye to 2025, let us reflect on the memories of things that spring to mind, and hopefully create some memories that will stay in our minds in 2026.
S.I.X.M.I.L.B.R.I.D.G.E. G.A.A. C.L.U.B.
S: Success on the field is always welcome, and we enjoyed the Minor and Camogie success of 2025, and Scor continues to reap success along the way.
I: Involved: There is never to many people involved in Club activities at any level throughout any single year. The Door is always open.
X: Have you got the X Factor that will lift the Club to greater heights, On the Field, Off the Field, we would be delighted to hear from you.
M: Maintenance, we all enjoy the surroundings of our facilities, in the Main field, and Cappa Lodge, but it’s becoming a huge task to continue the upkeep on a regular basis, as the Old SAYING GOES, “Many Hands make light work” and your hands could make it lighter.
I: Influence: I have little doubt that there are times when you ask yourself, as An Officer, a Coach, a Manager, or Mentor, or even a Parent, are we on the right road. As a Club we would like to think we are, don’t hesitate to say, if you think we aren’t.
L: Leaders, I think we are blessed. Definition.
E: Enjoyment, it’s one of the unwritten rules of being involved in any activity, from 2 to a
102. Do you enjoy what you are doing.
B: “The Banner Raised” Congratulations to all who represented the Club this year, wearing a County Jersey, and well done to all who were selected to do likewise in 2026.
R: REMEMBER those who were with us a Week, a Month, a Year ago, who have now gone to a place beyond the Stars, but to many are still within reach.
I: What an outstanding Individual award achieved by our former Treasurer Joan Keogh. In February this year, under the lights of Croke Park, she was recognised for the outstanding contribution to the GAA, when she received the GAA Presidents award live on National Television.
D: Dedicated. So many people support the Club each year, Bingo, Raffle Tickets, Lotto. Score Forecast, Timber sales. Scrap Metal, and many more, if you are one of those, Dedicated supporters, Thank you
G: Glory: Let’s hope for the Best for Club and County in 2026
E: You should never feel that you don’t have a part to play in the Club, no auditions Required, come along. Everybody welcome.
G: Grounds: While we have one of the busiest grounds imaginable, hosting a Late Late Munster Club fixture, on the 16th of November in O Garney Park, was a Testament to the type of Club we have. Club personnel were out Walking, Visitors had arrived at the House, plans were made to go hopping. Santa was even put in the back seat, Tractors, mowers, Shovels, Pitch forks all arrived to get the field in prime condition, then Eire Og and Loughmore/Castleiney, brought the Hurleys. A Moment and a Memory too savour.
A: Arena: When you have it, you often wonder, what we would do without it. Fantastic.
A: Between the Senior, Minor, and Camogie Club, we Almost have 1000 members, and next year we are going to have a Members Draw for Christmas Hampers. Ssssh, “its only 359 days away” as I write. Don’t miss out. Become a member.
C: Coaching, pay a visit on a Saturday morning, or most evenings of the week, and have a look, the Commitment from Coaches is second to none. Don’t forget to visit Club-zap daily. Club Officers who have served their time, Top Class. P.S. They are still deeply involved.
L: We don’t have the letter “P” in our visit to the Alphabet breakdown, so I’m going to use the letter “L” to acknowledge the enormous support we get from Parents. So, thank you for your Loyalty
U: Each year we set out to enhance our Club is as many ways as possible, and that will continue in 2026, new lights in the field, new Robotic Mower has arrived ,Planning for a new Stand in Cappa Lodge, new facelift to our facilities, but our Ultimate aim at the beginning of each year is, success on the field of play. Best of luck to all in 2026
B: Bye for now, let the Sporting highlights of 2025 be a Memory, Let the Sporting
Memories of 2026 be Highlights.

Sixmilebridge GAA Club.
