Sixmilebridge 0-13 Clonlara 0-08
The original Friday Night Lights TV show may be set in Dillon, Texas but we had our own version under lights in O'Garney Park last evening when Bridge and Clonlaras Intermediate teams got the Clare adult hurling season off to a start for 2018.
The Bridge were short a number of their U21 players who are in championship action today but were well in control in the first half leading 8 to 2.
Clonlara upped their game in the second half but the Bridge had strong performances in the backs from Griffin and Keogh to seal a 5 point win. Danny Morey picked up a knee injury so we wish him a speedy recovery and hope it is not serious.
The team managment for 2018 is: Terence Chaplin, Cathal Walsh, Gerry O'Halloran and PJ Mac Giolla Phadraig and we wish them all the best for the coming year.
