Well done to both our U15 Teams who took part in the Super 10s Tournament today across 3 venues in Caherlohan, Clareabbey and Ballyline. Our Bridge Blues team were in action in Ballyline where they drew with Eire Og in their opening game before beating Clarecastle to top their group and setup a final with Inagh Kilnamona. After a great battle the Bridge Blues lost out by 2 points.
Meanwhile in Caherlohan our Bridge Saffrons went through the tournament unbeaten - they topped their group with wins against Eire Og, Cratloe and Clooney/Quin. SMB 1-06 Eire Og 0-04 SMB 1-03 Cratloe 0-03 SMB 2-08 Clooney/Quin 0-2
In the semi final we faced Feile Champions Corofin Ruan and after a tough battle we won 2-05 to 2-03 to setup a final with Inagh/Kilnamona. In a low scoring first half both sides upped the ante in the second half as Inagh/Kilnamona went into a 2 point lead in the final minute but a late flurry of points saw the Bridge draw level with the last puck of the game. In the golden score (Extra Time) the Bridge engineered a score to win out by 2-06 to 2-05 to be crowned champions. They now go on to represent Clare in the Munster Super 10s finals in September. After the game Peter Casey from Clare GAA presented the cup to winning captain Jack Monahan.
Focus now turns to the U15A Championship Semi Final on Wed 24th June against Kilmaley. The U14 Super 10s will take part in early August while the U14 Championship will take part at the end of August.
