Congratulations to Junior B hurling Manager Mikey Corbett who was this morning named Shannon Precision Engineering Manager of the Month for May following his sides second league win over the weekend.

Speaking to SixmilebridgeGAA.com at the announcement this morning Corbett spoke of how he was very disappointed with the first round loss to The Banner but was delighted on how the team had responded to training in the last few weeks and this has paid dividends with wins against Tulla and Parteen. What is most pleasing Corbett said was "Scoring 6 goals in any game you will never be beaten and hitting the back of the net is something our forwards coach Jim Spaigh has really worked on with the boys in training". Corbett also said the award was on behalf of the whole management team and commented on how "James Liddanes expertise in Sports Science & Fitness has really helped the lads around things like hydration after heavy (hurling) sessions at the weekends and recovery following late nights at the cinema".

In true Mikey Corbett fashion he closed off the awards ceremony with a song - a Meat Loaf number entitled "2 out of 3 aint bad" and said its July/August he wants to be winning this Manager of the Month award come championship time.

Well done Mikey.
