For our fourth game in the U14A Championship, we travelled to Kilmaley on 24 July 2026. It was a cool and breezy evening—much to the delight of the spectators!  We put in a solid first-half performance, but playing against the wind and one of our key players having to retire made the challenge even greater. Despite these setbacks, we managed to score a standout goal and a point before half-time.  The half-time interval was a reset for the team. Following a motivational team talk and some delicious oranges and ice-cold watermelon, the girls returned to the field full of energy and determination. Their second-half display was outstanding, producing some excellent scores, including two goals.  Unfortunately, our spirited comeback was not enough to overcome Kilmaley. However, great credit is due to the girls, who gave everything in the second half. Their commitment was evident in their admirable blocking, tackling, and creation of scoring opportunities. It was particularly encouraging to see the sliotar spending far more time in Kilmaley’s half than it had during the opening period.  Equally pleasing was the opportunity to give all 20 players meaningful game time, ensuring everyone played an important part in the team's effort. While the result did not go our way, there were many positives to take from a determined and spirited performance.
