The club would like to express their sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of Shane Devanney who tragically passed away earlier this week.
Shane who was a very talented all round sportsman excelled and achieved in all the sports he played. He played hurling all the way from underage with the Bridge up to adult level. He won a Junior B County championship in 2010 as a scoring wing forward who was also the team's free taker. He represented Clare at U14 and U16 level and was asked into the Clare minor setup in 2004.
Shane was also an excellent gaelic footballer, he won championships with O'Callaghan's Mills at u14 (2000), minor (2004) (scoring 2-5 in final), U21 (2006) and junior league (2006). He also won the U14 Feile skills football competition which he entered at the time despite only starting to play football. He was also a very good handballer and played with O'Callaghans Mills. Shane also represented Bridge United in soccer and won a premier league in 2006. He also played Badminton & pitch and putt.
He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. Rest in Peace Shane.
