In an very good team performamce, the Bridge outplayed a young Doora Barefield side under lights on Friday night in the group stage Round 3 championship game. 

The Bridge had a good mix of experience and youth on the night, the young guns played especially well, Charlie Keane put 1-1 on the board and worked hard all night and he scored a goal that was worthy of being shown on the Sunday game such was the finish, an exquisite shot at pace straight to the top corner giving the Barefield goalkeeper no chance. The young Sweeney brothers Liam and Darragh again combined well to amass 0-4, 2 points a piece and young Conor Gleeson also got his name on the board with 2 points from wing back as a second half subsitute.  

Not to be outdone though the slightly more experienced lads did feature too, Donald Devanney registering 2-4 followed by Paul Corbett & Tommy Liddy with 0-4 each and Stiofan Fitzpatrick with 0-3. 

But it was not all about the forwards either as there were solid displays at the back from the younger defenders Jack Phelan and Paddy Lynch as well as the more seasoned Oisin Casey and Kieran Liddane.

The Brdge were never really in trouble, leading by 4-11 to 1-4 at half time and eventually wnnning out 5-23 to 2-7. Also good to see Rory Shanahan back involved at adult level coaching the Juniors for the last number of weeks and linking in with the management team of Brendan O'Callaghan, Gerry Liddane, Ed Skehan and Tom Keogh.

The Bridge are due to face Ballyea in their final group game on Friday 25th Sepetmber at 730pm in Shannon and a result here will see them into the championship quarter finals.
