Saturday the 10th of September saw us make the journey to Ahane in Co.Limerick for their annual under 10 tournament. This would be the last time a lot of these players would tog off at this age group for the club. In a fore runner to the big game in Cusack Park the next day we played Clonlara in our first game and indeed the seniors must have gained inspiration from the lads performance as a tough match ended with a victory for the bridge to start the day.
Croom were second up on the day, for a competition run on a league basis and after a tough battle we finished with a second victory and a match with the host’s to decide the day.
Ahane with huge support on home soil started brightly and the minimum of a point was between the teams at half time. Not to be outdone our own large travelling support drove the lads on in the second half and some great displays of score taking saw us home to take a third trophy on our travels.
Huge thanks to all involved, players, supporters, coaches and families. This group have had a good year but bigger challenges lie ahead. We would also like to thank Mike Quinn and all in the minor club/committee for all their help and support through the season.
