Due to popular demand the club has introduced a new training group for Over 35s who are interested in getting/staying fit in a fun environment. Training for over 35s takes place every Thursday at 8pm and Saturday morning at 8am at the main field in O'Garney park under the guidance of coach Tim Crowe who has decades of experience in the sports having coached Clare and Limerick hurling teams in the past as well as representing Ireland in athletics.
According to Tim the group is setup to cater for all abilities and an open door policy applies. "We have a wide range of abilities here from players who represented the club at all levels but finished playing a number of years ago and simply miss the team/group environment and find it more enjoyable to stay fit as part of a group, others are parents who simply want to be able to go out and puck a ball or run around with their kids without being out of breath, while others simply want to get some exercise in a fun environment. Our latest recruit told me the last time he ran was in the Community Games back in 1988 and he felt to mark the 30 year anniversary he would get back doing a bit."
"We really mean it when we say all are welcome and bring a friend ! Our motto is
"togging out is the hardest part of training" .
There are some great characters starting to come to the trainings and there are whispers of some off the field socialising being planned but we will have to throw in a few extra press ups for that".

Ps: All you need for the sessions is a pair of Runners and a smile on your face :-)
