There are lots of stories in Irish Hurling folklore of the legend of Cu Chulainn and Setanta but last night we heard a new one from our club legend Niall Gilligan when he arrived into our U6 Bridge Bucks dressing room and gave them their pep talk before facing Kilmaley in our last game of 2018. The boys had trained hard all year and a number of the squad are graduating to the U8s while the younger boys will remain on at U6 for another year. The squad were kitted out in their new training tops kindly sponsored by O'Flynns Centra, Sixmilebridge and ready for action when head coach Ian Chaplin introduced Gilly who this year played his 24th Senior hurling championship campaign for the Bridge having already won 6 championships as well as All Ireland medals and All star with Clare.
Gilly explained to the boys about the importance of the club jersey and crest and what it means to wear it before going on to explain how pulling on the Bridge jersey gives us super powers and turns him into Superman ...

Following the talk the boys tore the door of the hinges as the headed out for the pre match parade behind the piper.

We are now going take a break to let the boys get on with their Strength & Conditioning program for the winter and will see them back in the spring for pre season training :-) Very soon we will be hurling all year round in our new indoor hurling arena so we thank you for your continued support on this venture. Full roundup of the year for follow from head coach Ian Chaplin.
