History of Sixmilebridge to be Unveiled in Coffee Table Photo Book

Sixmilebridge Historical Society, a small local voluntary organisation that studies, researches and supports local history endeavours, will launch its recently completed publication - “Sixmilebridge - Images through Time” – on Friday, 2 November 2018 in Sixmilebridge GAA Club Hall at 8pm. The book, which is a series of stories of Sixmilebridge through photographs, will be launched by Fr Harry Bohan.

The publication comprises 100 pages of high-quality photographs sourced from local photographer Paddy Higgins’ personal collection, a public search, various media sources and other collections.  

This ‘coffee table’ style book will take the reader on a journey of life in the village and its hinterland from circa 1880 to 2018.

The launch, which commences at 8pm on Friday, 2 November, is open to the public.

Copies of the book will be available at the launch and from Sixmilebridge Post office. All proceeds will go towards the development of the local national school.
