Regeneron 2-17 H&MV Engineering 1-16
Regeneron captured the 2nd part of a historic double last night when they had 4 points to spare over H&MV Engineering in the Limerick Interfirm Hurling final played in UL. In a highly enjoyable game which was tough but fairly contested throughout their was some excellent scores, hard hits and even some time for quality checks - about 7 minutes to go members of both teams (Quality Engineers of course) decided to test the fabric of their jerseys! -
Caimin Morey lined out on the edge of the square and hit 2 points while Seadna was his ever energetic self, commanding mid field with some trademark runs the best of which resulted in a goal following a 60 metre run before a flick of the wrists had the green flag waving. Our club man Donal Mullins who is rumored to be the real brains behind the management team introduced David DOC O'Connor in the second half and he ensured all the Bridge boys got on the score sheet with a point from play. They now go on to play in the Munster 1/4 final against either Kerry Group or Radley Engineering.
This is Regeneron's first year competing in Inter Firm GAA in Limerick and while most of the top executives in the US office were enjoying Thanksgiving, Player/Manager David O'Connor delivered on his promise that they would have the best present ever when they woke up this morning with news their hurling team were champions.
Reports on Bloomberg this morning say they expect the stock of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: REGN) to rise exponentially following this historic win - O'Connor refused to comment on speculation he bought shares before the game.
