There was a great turnout for the Togging Out Groups trip to the 12 O'Clock Hills this morning with over 50 hikers young and not so young turning out in mild and misty conditions. It was great to see the club gear that Santa delivered on display and the enthusiasm from the young boys and girls to get up the hills as quick as possible something I'm sure will stand to them later in the season. Following the hike to the top the picnic for breakfast was rolled out with some very interesting cuisine on display.
The Togging Out Group has been one of the success stories of the club in 2018 - Established just over 4 months ago it has gone from strength to strength. The idea behind it is simple, provide a platform for over 35 males who are interested in getting/staying fit in a fun environment. Training takes place every Tuesday & Thursday at 8pm and Saturday morning at 8am at the main complex at O'Garney park under the guidance of coach Tim Crowe who has decades of experience in the sports having coached Clare and Limerick hurling teams in the past as well as representing Ireland in athletics.
The group are constantly keeping things fresh with circuits some nights and pilates in the new year - One of the group members who wished to remain anonymous said - "I hope none of my friends hear me say this but I find the pilates better than a soak in the bath after a hard day grafting on the building site."
According to group coordinators - "We really mean it when we say all are welcome irrespective of fitness and bring a friend! Our motto is togging out is the hardest part of training."
Contact Tim Crowe 0872052842 for a pep talk if in doubt about coming to the sessions!
Ps: All you need for the sessions is a pair of Runners and a smile on your face :-)
Remember with the new year coming and new years resolutions following this, training in a group will motivate you to keep going past January!
