The much anticipated U10 Go Games Blitz schedule for 2019 was announced last week with Sixmilebridge head coach David O'Connor on hand at Clare GAA headquarters in Clareabbey to witness proceedings. The Sixmilebridge boys will be involved in 6 Go Games blitzes between April and September (see schedule below). The squad will also be involved in more blitzes and tournaments throughout the year - these will be announced as the season progresses.
Go Games blitzes put an emphasis on skills development - some of the rules include:
- Games are 12 minutes a half
- Ground hurling for first 5 mins of each half
- Players can rise for remainder of game. Solo is not permitted
- A goal is equal to one point
- Skill Points are awarded for striking a moving ball and a 1st time jab rise
So, get ready for another year of traveling the highways and byways of Clare (and further beyond), throwing an eye over the upcoming U10 hurling talent and sampling some of the finest ham sandwiches and Rice Krispie buns on offer in the all important 'after blitz' banquets!
