Clooney/Quin 1-22 Sixmilebridge 1-09

Round 2 of the Clare Cup took place in Clooney on Sunday last and the home side dominated from start to finish with Clare star Peter Duggan in rampant form hitting 1-12 including a sublime effort from a sideline.

The winners lead 1-09 to 0-06 points at half time and an early Caimin Morey goal from a placed ball at the start of the second half lifted the visitors but Clooney weathered the storm and ran out easy winners by 13 points. This leaves the Bridge with a crunch tie this weekend against Cratloe (Friday @ 8:30PM in O Garney Park) who are also 0 from 2 in an attempt to get off the bottom of the table.
