Date: Saturday April 13th
Time: 11AM
The route starts in the GAA Club Grounds at O’Garney Park. After running part of a lap of the hurling field from the designated start position, participants exit the ground and turn right onto R470 for approx 300m. Marshals will guide participants to take a 90 degree right turn at Russells onto the local road through Ballysheen past the graveyard. There are no junctions for 2km on this road until the junction with regional road R462. This junction will be marshalled and participants will be directed to turn left onto R462 towards Kilmurry.
Participants will be asked to keep to the left as they climb a slight incline and after that hill, a marshal will instruct them when it’s safer to cross to the right-hand side. After 1.5km on R462 runners will turn off to their right at Mountcashel, onto a quiet local road.
At the 5km marker there will be a water station and marshals will guide runners to take a right turn. There will be a marshal guiding runners to take a left turn just before the 6K mark, and the next junction at the 7k marker is onto the Broadford Road at Castlecrine, where they will be guided to turn right back towards Sixmilebridge. Upon reaching the village and the R462, runners will be guided to the left and a marshal near the Mill Bar shall guide them when its safe to cross to the footpath on the right for the upcoming right turn. At the square, they turn right towards Shannon and keep to the right after crossing the bridge at Gillys bar, to run up the school road (past courthouse) and back to the GAA club. One lap of the pitch completes the 10k to the finish line in front of the covered stand.
