Sixmilebridge 2-22 v 0-8 Clooney/Quin
Junior B Championship
Round 3 @ Shannon
The junior B hurlers got their campaign back on track with a convincing defeat of Clooney/Quin yesterday evening in Shannon.
At half time the winners were 2-11 to 0-4 to the good having had the better of the exchanges. The goals came courtesy of Stiofán Fitzpatrick, who expertly batted a long range delivery to the net, and Mikey O'Hallloran, who unleashed a piledriver after a fine run through the Clooney/Quin defence.
The second half saw the 'Bridge outscore their opponents by 0-11 to 0-4 and indeed this could have been more only for some good saves from the Clooney/Quin goalie. Overall this was a good team display with some fine performances on the evening.
The buzzers are out again next weekend against an unbeaten Whitegate in round 4. Earlier this year the East Clare outfit defeated the 'Bridge in the league with the management and panel fully aware of the challenge that faces them next weekend.
