The Gentle Giant of Bridge hurling Paidi Fitzpatrick who has been domiciled in the USA has signed a professional rookie contract with Austin based Lacrosse team the Texas Longhorns.

Paidi has been on trial with the Longhorns since the Bridge exited the Munster Club championship to eventual winners Na Piarsaigh in November 2015.

Fitz who has been one of the most consistent Club players in Clare since making his senior debut is playing as Pointman for the Longhorns and according to his agent Revor Porsell from WilliamFort Sports Management - "Irish Paddy Fitz has really adapted well and is the fastest graduate in the history of the game to the Rookie list in Colleges Lacrosse"

According to a source in the Bridge management team the deal offered to Paidi was too good to turn down and when endorsements were taken into account (Under Armour, Aprils Chevorlet Autos, Fools Gold Beer) the decision was basically a No Brainer.

We wish Paidi well in his new career and will miss him in the Saffron and Blue on Garneyside and look forward to following him on MNL (Monday Night Lacrosse) which starts on TG4 this August..

Pointman: This player is a threat to score and usually a strong perimeter shooter, but his main role is to feed the ball to his teammates.
