Congratulations to Kieran Keating of Deerpark, Sixmilebridge who has been elected as Vice Chairman of the Clare GAA County Board. Keating who is officially an Naomh Eoin club man is an adopted son of the Bridge is a passionate Clare Football & Hurling man and will be a huge asset to GAA in the county. Kieran works locally as Financial Controller at the McDonagh owned Fabricated Products company in Shannon and has been involved in GAA circles all his life both playing and in administration. His tenure as Munster council rep finished this year so it was a natural progression to join the Clare Executive.

The St. Flannans educated Keating is a sports fanatic and considers the highlight of his playing career to be winning a masters All Ireland with Clare in 2018 (pictured front row - bottom left above) while other notable achievements include county football titles with Naomh Eoin and winning a hurling parish league with Cappa. Kieran is also one of the top endurance athletes in the country in his age group having conquered the 24 hour race in Donegal on numerous occasions.

Our own Niall Gilligan was unsuccessful in his quest for a Munster Council role when he was edged out by Bernard Keane and John Fawl.

Chairman: Jack Chaplin (Cratloe) who overcame PJ McGuane in the race for the position with 116 of the votes, with McGuane picking up 67.

Vice Chairman: Kieran Keating of Naomh Eoin with 92 votes, beating Neil O’Brien (62), Niall Romer (16) and Michael Maher (12).

Michael Lee (Tubber) and Naoise Jordan (Parteen) will serve as the joint Presidents after agreeing to share the position.

Anne Hayes (Vice-Secretary), Michael Gallagher (Treasurer), Tony Brohan (Vice-Treasurer) and Michael O’Connor (PRO) were all returned unopposed, while Pat Fitzgerald continues as secretary.
