Good sports commentary brings a game alive and embeds it in our memory forever.

Who can forget hearing Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh's line about Cork star Seán Óg Ó hAilpín: "his father’s from Fermanagh, his mother’s from Fiji. Neither a hurling stronghold." or "Teddy McCarthy to Mick McCarthy, no relation, Mick McCarthy back to Teddy McCarthy, still no relation."

Or Marty Morrissey's "Holy Moses" moment in 2013 when Clare and Cork drew in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final.

This summer Up for the Match is looking for the next generation of GAA commentators to feature in the show.

Are you the next Syl O'Connor, Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh, Ger Canning, Pauric Lodge or Marty Morrissey?

If you are 13 years old or younger, Up for the Match wants you to enter our commentary competition. You can commentate on hurling, camogie, football or women’s football - below is a choice of golden moments from this season and last season’s Championship. Simply pick from our list, or choose your own favourite moment, and record a video of yourself describing it in your best commentary style.

We will play a selection of entries as part of a compilation across both episodes of the show - enter to be in with a chance of seeing your commentary on Up for the Match.

Up for the Match will be broadcast on the eve of the Senior Hurling All-Ireland (Saturday, 16 July) and on the eve of the Senior Football All-Ireland (Saturday, 23 July).

Closing date is Monday, 11 July.

How To Enter

Record a video (in landscape aspect) of yourself commentating on one of the clips in the link below. Video should be of 20-60 second duration.
