Sixmilebridge 1-20

Feakle Killanena 2-15

Led by Captain Morgan O' Connell at corner back, the Sixmilebridge U19s finally won out on Tuesday night against a formidable and determined Feakle Killanena side in the championship semi final played at O' Garney park after Sixmilebridge won the coin toss to decide the venue.

Feakle Killanena started well with a point from Keith Smyth, who showed with his quick turn of pace and strength that he was going to be a menace for the Bridge backs for the day. The Bridge responded well with 3 points from play before the combo responded with a goal from center forward Ian McMamara.

The bridge led by 3 points at half time, 1-11 to 1-8.

The second half saw Feakle claw back the deficit to within a point twice before finally drawing level and then going a point up thanks to a goal again from McNamara and some exquisite free taking from Smyth. The sides were level on a further 2 occasions in the closing minutes before the Bridge finally pulled away for a 2 point win.

Good for the Bridge on the day were Matthew O Halloran, Adam Murray, Michael Carey and Morgan O' Connell who all worked hard throughout the game.

After the group wins against Ballyea and Scarriff Ogonnolloe and this semi final win against Feakle Killanena, the final will now take place against Inagh Kilnamona in Cusack Park on Sunday at 1130. All support welcome on the day.
