What a buzz around the village on Tuesday evening as the Munster Hurling Championship pulled into town when Cork came to O'Garney Park to take on Clare. The Banner boys made a great start to the campaign with a win over Tipperary, were off form against Limerick and performed for half the game against Waterford so the crowd who gathered in the 'Bridge were unsure what to expect - But as the sun was shining so too was the character of the Clare boys who dominated the game to run out winners and guarantee a place in the semi final at least.

Huge credit is due to all the stewards who helped out on the evening, to the club and field committee who had the pitch in immaculate order and it was commented on by many in attendance.

Its been a great week for the Clare Minor teams over Cork with Calum Phelan hitting 1-02 on Saturday last in the Celtic Challenge and Matthew & Mark playing a huge part in Clares win last evening.

However, pride of place on the pitch on Tuesday went to our 74 hurlers and camogie players - 42 Under 9 Boys and 32 U10 Girls who took part in a half time game. This gang have been taking part in our Spraoi Saturday initiative since January in the indoor arena on Saturday mornings and all their training really is paying off given the high level of skills on display today.
