Junior Bs with First League Win against Wolfe Tones

Our Junior Bs had a good win on Thursday night against Wolfe Tones in Shannon. Played under lights, conditions were good, a dry Spring evening with little to no wind.

The Bridge men raced into action with the opening score coming from 2013 Junior B winner Paul Corbett. That was quickly followed up by a goal from youngster Jack Lee, his first of two goals on the night. The ‘Bridge were the dominant side in the first half, Wolfe Tones managed only 5 points while the ‘Bridge added further pointed scores from Michael O’ Halloran on frees, Kieran Liddane, Stiofan Fitpatrick, Gavin McMahon and Donald Devanney before Paul Corbett finished the half with a green flag. The ‘Bridge led 3-9 to 0-5 at half time.

The second half saw Wolfe Tones come more into the game and they scored 2-5 to add to their first half tally. However the ‘Bridge added a further goal from Stiofan Fitzpatrick and points from O’ Halloran on the frees, Paul Corbett, Robbie Corry and Fitzpatrick again.

This is the Junior Bs first win of the 2023 campaign and with a number of players to return from injury yet, the outlook is bright. Notable performances from young Jack Lee, Gavin Mcmahon and the ever improving Paddy Reilly who lined out at center back and big inputs from Donovan at full back, O’ Halloran on the frees and Corbett and Fitzpatrick up front.
