Adult Hurling Leagues Reach Concluding Stages

The Clare Hurling leagues are now reaching he concluding stages, with final rounds to be played over the coming weekend.

Seniors

The seniors are certainly in the shakeup in Division 1A after a good result, beating Ballyea last night on a scoreline of 2-22 to 2-15. They currently lie in 3rd place, equal on points with Newmarket who are in 2nd place but behind them due to inferior score difference. The final tie however sees the Bridge play Newmarket, this weekend and it will most likely be the winner who will take the semi final spot, but Crusheen who are also on 10 pts, with Feakle to play at the weekend could take the semi final spot if they win big! Sixmilebridge play Newmarket at 2pm on Sunday next in Newmarket.

Intermediates

The Intermediates currently lie in 3rd place with the final league game against Ogonnoloe on Saturday at 7pm in Ogonnoloe . The semi finalists will be made up of the 2nd and 3rd placed teams, with the top team into the final. A win will guarantee a place in the semi finals.

Junior As

The Junior As are flying on top of the Table in Division 4, with their final game against bottom placed team Parteen Meelick, this weekend also, in Parteen at 4pm on Saturday. They are guaranteed at this stage to be in the semi finals which will be made up of the top 4 teams.

Junior Bs

The Junior Bs have one game remaining in Division 5B, ehere they will take on Bodyke tonight in Sixmilebridge. After some close games, they lie 7th in the table, but a win tonight would propel them to 5th in the table. There will be no advancement however to the knockout stages, but the league has served as being useful to try players in different positions and introduce some of our newer, younger hurlers to adult hurling.
